What to expect

A duo of Mexican delights await on this full day tour from Cancun. The adventure begins at the break of dawn with a journey to experience the wonder of Chichen Itza, a UNESCO-listed ancient Maya city. Then, wind down with a swim in a natural underground cenote cave. Hugo, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘The early start is worth it – we'll arrive first thing in the morning to experience the magic of the ruins in the soft sunlight and beat the heat'.

A guided tour of the ruined city reveals the stories of this remarkable site. It's not hard to imagine the daily lives of the community that lived here and built these impressive monuments. After the guided tour, enjoy free time to make the most of exploring this archaeological treasure trove as you wish. Hugo adds, ‘This ancient city isn't just about admiring the grandeur of El Castillo, but also about feeling the pulse of the Maya civilization that thrived here centuries ago. Don't miss the Great Ball Court—imagine the echoes of the past as players competed in this very spot.'

Next, you'll be whisked away to Cenote Tsukán. Cenotes are believed by the Maya to be portals to the underworld, and they are revered in traditional culture. Here, you will plunge into the limpid waters, participate in a traditional ceremony and feel your senses awaken in glorious natural surroundings. Afterwards, you'll enjoy a tasty local lunch, savouring the flavours of regional cuisine prepared with fresh, local ingredients.

The trip was excellent. Both chichen itza and the cenote were amazing. However, the cost is very high, only under 13 qualify as children - so the price for families is increased.

I found the staff very helpful. The rep also was very helpful. Just a little disappointment with the hotel. Not leaving any water for 3 days for us to drink 3 days with no coffee to drink. But overall we enjoyed our stay

Tui rep needs to be more clearer upon collection for excursion. We was told a Tui/tour bus would collect us from hotel and not a small bus driving us to a main bus station to then travel on a main larger bus with all the mod cons.

The entire trip was superb. Maybe a bit more time at both stops to just enjoy site-seeing, but I appreciate it’s a very long day for the guide and driver. An excellent day trip, well worth the money.

It was a great day, guides were amazing. Worth going early for and beating the crowds. Well fed and watered! Good value for money however felt chichen itza was a bit rushed for going all that way. Even an extra half an hour of more free time would’ve been better as after the guided tour we only had 45mins and didn’t seem like long to go back and see it all again properly.

Overall the trip was fantastic and is a must for everyone to see. The heat at times can be unbearable so the brolly provided was a god send. One negative would be the quality of the food at the restaurant stop which wasn’t the best.
