What to expect

You'll journey through Santiago del Teide, a highland village of whitewashed homes. In Icod de Los Vinos, you'll admire the centuries-old dragon tree, with some free time to wander around the town. Garachico – often called the ‘prettiest and unluckiest' – awaits with some interesting history. Devastated by a volcanic eruption in 1706 and rebuilt on its lava, it's now famous for natural lava pools, guarded by a volcanic rock castle, where locals and visitors alike come to bathe.

When it's time to take a break, there's a tasty local lunch, served in a family-run restaurant in a traditional finca. Teno Rural Park showcases the island's rich biodiversity and is known as the source of Tenerife's top-quality natural produce. Fantastic views, some of the heights were not for the faint hearted. Tour guide/driver was nice and friendly and informative, but although we were only in a van, we couldn't always hear him. Not for people with walking difficulties or breathing problems like myself, something we were not told before booking. Dinner was very good but we also feel like there wasn't enough time spent in some lovely places due to the amount of travelling. Liked the trip though.

The guide, Ivan, was amazing. Really informative and interesting and engaged the whole group. However the meal was terrible. I can't eat gluten and dairy, so even though they had pre warning they just removed parts of the meal with that in. Meaning I was given a leg of chicken and nothing else. No vegetable, no side, no dessert and no explanation. I just sat there with nothing! Other people who could eat anything said the meal was awful too.
