What to expect

This full day trekking along one of the typical Madeira canals called levada, will take you to the major peaks of Madeira, and give you a complete perception of how beautiful the island is.

The levada starts at Miradouro do Picarouto, in Santana, to Achada do Teixeira, known for its rock formations, like the basalt stone called the "standing man", ascending to the highest peak, Pico Ruivo and concluding at Achada do Teixeira. This route offers a diverse experience, combining both forest and mountain hiking 9,5KM.
