Discover Gramvousa and Balos from Chania during a guided tour! You'll leave early in the morning with a personalized pickup service and after one hour you'll arrive at the port of Kissamos.
At the end of the gulf, you'll notice an impressive geological phenomenon where, because of the passage of time, the western part of the island is rising, while the eastern part is sinking. This phenomenon was mainly created by catastrophic earthquakes that took place in 66 BC and 365 BC.
After one hour, the boat will arrive at the port of Gramvousa. The island's eminent castle was built by the Venetians in 1579 at the highest point of the island, on top of a steep rock at a height of 137m. The panoramic view and the legend of the pirate's hidden treasure will leave you speechless. The walk takes approximately 20 minutes.
Following the two-hour visit to Gramvousa, the boat will depart to Balos (note that the boat does not disembark in Balos), where it will make a stop for you to swim in the sea, do snorkeling, or just relax with friends and family after going back to your hotel.
