The Alcázar is one of the most outstanding examples of mudéjar architecture found on the Iberian Peninsula and is the oldest royal palaces in Europe that's still in use today, being the official residence of the Spanish Royal family whenever they come to Seville. It was registered in 1987 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, along with the Cathedral of Seville and the General Archive of the Indies.
